No Updates For A While :: 17 June, 2009

I had posted something about my extraordinary troubles, earlier, but have decided to remove that post. It occurs to me that probably nobody really cares what is going on in my life, so long as they get their free stories on time. It also occurs to me that what goes on in my private life is no one's business. Thus, I shall give no more information, here, about what's up with me, personally. If there are updates, then there will be updates. If not, not.

If you are mad at me because of my lack of updates, do not write to me to say so. Do not write to me and complain that I have dared to share my troubles with my readers on this website, and do not accuse me of "thinking no one else in the world has troubles" besides me. Do not expect me to put my entire awful life on hold just so you can get a free chapter, today. To those who have already done one or all of those things, please stop reading my stories. Now. I do not want your readership.

To those who have been patient, I apologize that I have fallen down on the job. My circumstance prevents me from doing any substantial creative work. If you care to know the details, write to me and ask. I will no longer assume my readers give a shit about what happens to me, and will not have any more personal posts in this blog.

It saddens me that 99.8% of the people who have written to me have done so only to scold me for failing to deliver an update on the schedule they desire, or to snark at me for something else. Exactly two of my readers have thanked me for the free stories or had anything nice to say, at all. It is for those two, and for those silent others who don't hate me over a missed update, that I shall strive to continue the free story updates, as I am able to do so. The rest of you can go to hell.

D'oh! :: 13 May, 2009

I went all the way out to town, today, and forgot to bring along my 40% off coupon for the art store. (-.-) So I did not get the pastel crayons that I needed. I'm trying to get the cover art done for the print edition of Rustler's Roundup, which shall be out sometime later this month or in early June, and I wanted to do it in pastels. I have a set of them, somewhere, but they are very old and, at the moment, seemingly lost. Oh well. I suppose maybe I'll get another chance to go into town, later this week, before my coupon expires! I have to get that art done, ASAP!

Today, in Justice Rides In Leather, yet another of Ashley Martin's devious plans backfires.

Young Guns, Left and Right :: 12 May, 2009

Huh. Well, persnickety me finally got around to watching the old 80s movie, "Young Guns." Erm, with Emilio Estevez as Billy the Kid. *snicker* I'm sorry. It just didn't work for me. The script felt...jerky, for lack of a better term. It was not a satisfying film. As far as following history, well, all I can say to that is *snerk*. I hope my own attempts at western stories hold up better than that. I'm trying to make my stories fun, even when there are very heavy parts. Silly is what I do best, and I like to see it liberally sprinkled about in other people's stories, too. Especially in Old West stories, where things can get pretty cliched and melodramatic, if you don't have some humor in the mix, for buffer.

Now, on to my own story updates!

Today, in Justice Rides In Leather, Molly finds a new friend, and a new source of hope, in the Senate Saloon.

Happy Day-After-Mother's Day! :: 11 May, 2009

A very happy (though belated) Mother's Day to all my readers who are mothers or mothers-to-be! I hereby send you a virtual hug, bouquet of your favorite flowers and a secret gift that only you can see! I hope your Sunday was excellent. (^-^)

On my home front, we have spotted a buzzard with an injured wing. I suspect someone shot the poor fellow. He and his mate have been hanging around, with him dragging his wing and her worriedly following him, and flying off now and then. We're going to try to catch the poor fellow and take him down to animal rescue, so they can treat his wing and get him back in the air! People don't tend to think much of vultures and buzzards, but they play a vital role in nature. Not only do they eat the carrion that would otherwise just rot on the roads, but they also catch live snakes and other pests, for meals. For someone to shoot at a bird, or at any other animal that they do not mean to eat, is just reprehensible. What kind of a person is so cruel? People like that are not human beings. They are demons disguised as humans.

Today, in Justice Rides In Leather, Garrett and the rest of Marshal Sheldon's party have an exciting encounter with some very sneaky Comanches!

Stormy Weather! :: 6 May, 2009

Wow, we have had a lot of storms, here, lately! We're still having them, but they're not as intense as they were, this past week. Thankfully! I am hoping things clear up for a while, as rainy, dark weather keeps me in a blue mood, on top of messing up our phone line and knocking out our electric power.

Anyway, I finally got some more work done on Justice Rides In Leather. I'm still working on Rollin' Thunder, but I am not satisfied that it's ready for serialization to begin, yet. As soon as it is, I'll let you all know! I'm also still messing around with illustrations for Joshua Love's article on how to make cowboy coffee. My friend, Carson Fire is also doing some illustrations, and we'll decide on which ones best fit the piece, as soon as they are all done. I want it to look good and be a fun article, so I won't post it until the illustrations are done. Once it's up, I may also do one for him on how to rob a stagecoach, by yourself. That should be fun, too!

Today, in Justice Rides In Leather, Ashley Martin comes home to an unexpected tongue lashing from his father.

Good Times Ahead :: 1 May, 2009

I can see good times a'comin', y'all! I don't know exactly how or when it will come, but it will come! I can feel it! Something big has been set in motion for me, something big and grand and wonderful, and when it comes, I'll be sharing it with all of you, my good friends and readers! I'm so excited I could just pop! And yes, there WILL be pictures. (^o^)

Oh, Joshua Love has been in my dreams a lot, lately. Probably because I have decided to decorate one of the spare bedrooms just for him. It will be HIS room, the first room he's ever had to himself, in all of his life, and I will fill it up with things I know he'll like. It will be such a nice room, that even I will want to stay in it, from time to time. :P He's been running up and down the stairs, in these dreams, giggling like an excited little kid, so I'm glad I made the decision to set aside a room for him. He more than deserves it!

I'm still chiseling away at his newest story, Rollin' Thunder, which I hope to start in serialization very soon. I've had a number of small setbacks that have prevented me from working much on the novel (or anything else of note), but I'm looking forward to being able to finish all those things up and throw myself at the new story, full steam ahead! I know y'all will like Rollin' Thunder. It's going to be a fun, action-packed story! Stay tuned for the serial, right here!

Today, in Justice Rides In Leather, Hillous Samples makes his way out to the Martin plantation, to let Joseph Martin know the results of the investigation.

Rollin' Thunder! :: 6 April, 2009

I won't have another chapter done for Justice Rides In Leather until tomorrow, since Garrett is being a bit troublesome, but I do have a five-chapter preview of the new Desperado novel, Rollin' Thunder! It's not quite ready for serialization, but I wanted to share what I have, so far, with you! I hope you enjoy it.

I also did new art for the new story, which is on the page with the first chapter. But I will post it, here, as well!

Left to right: Colton Nash, age 16; Joshua Love, age 16; Ricky Celis, age 14. I think this is one of the best illustrations I have done for the characters, yet. (^-^)

Today, in Rollin' Thunder, Josh and Ricky run into an old "friend" of Joshua's, Colton Nash.

Three Ways To Buy "Three Ways From Sunday"! :: 26 January, 2009

Finally back on track, with Justice Rides In Leather! With any luck, I'll have updates every day, this week, and I won't have any more catastrophes to derail my storytelling! Wish me luck, y'all!

I'm also gonna take a minute to pimp my new book, again. Three Ways From Sunday is out in paperback form, and there are three ways to get a copy! You can either order it from Amazon.com, order it through my bookstore with CreateSpace, or order an autographed copy directly from me! Through Amazon or CreateSpace, the price is $16 plus shipping and handling, but through me, the price is $20, postage and handling included! Also, if you buy a signed copy through me, you'll get some little extras along with it, which are not available any other way. Here are the three links, for your convenience:

*Remember, if you buy a signed copy through my PayPal account, please indicate how you would like the book(s) signed in the message to seller box, and include your current mailing address!

Whichever way you choose, I appreciate your purchase! Thank you for supporting my nefarious writing habit. I promise to write lots more stories for you!
